Thank You

What an incredible honour and privilege it has been to be your Ontario Liberal candidate for Spadina-Fort York.

Over these months, we truly reached and connected with thousands of residents to share our hopes and dreams for making our province a better place. I am so incredibly proud of everyone who stepped into this campaign: all the people who are new to politics and all the seasoned pros who taught me so much. The lessons I have learned through this time will change me forever but they were the proof that the best in politics is fun, joyful and all about community. I'm proud of the leadership, the courage and the vision we put forward.

But, I'm very saddened by the outcome: four years of a Ford majority is disastrous for all of us.

I passed a food bank this morning that serves our community: the lines so early in the morning are the signal that our government is failing us. I'm grieving for us all because we won't have compassionate leadership at a time when we need it most.

These problems will get deeper over the four next years, meaning that community will pick up more of the pieces while more and more people will fall through the cracks. We need to continue to fight so we can maintain dignity for us all.

One of the saddest outcomes for me was the overall turnout. But it's a time of such fatigue and exhaustion - we need to focus on building trust and community in our politics again, especially for those of us who have never felt that trust in the first place.

I want to thank my family, my husband, my kids, my mom and my mother-in-law for all they did to support this run. I want to thank all the candidates all across the province who showed up for Ontario.

And, most importantly, a huge thank you to all of you for joining me on this journey.

All my best,
Chi
